| + All our Thanksgiving decorations were put away and the advent calendar Scripture bags filled and hung on December 1. - No one noticed until today.
+ P&C is a great community supporter, for any organization that needs a spot to raise funds. The employees there are longtime familiar faces. - Walking around P&C and seeing empty spots on the shelves. Usually they have better bargains there than WalMart when combining double coupons and sales, and I much prefer their produce. I don't want to see the store's demise.
+ It snowed on Tuesday. - It was gone on Wednesday.
+ I have to open a window at my Tuesday job because there is too much heat in the office. - I need to bring a blanket and slippers to my Wednesday job because there is too little heat in the office.
+ It was Ladies' Night at Coakley's. The owner asked about and commended my #1 younger son. - Today was rainy and drizzly and not really conducive to being out.
+ The SLU Bookstore is decorated to the hilt. From now until Christmas they have hot spiced cider and shortbread cookies to nibble on while viewing all the goods. On weekends they have musical groups entertaining customers. - Christ tends to get lost in all the glitz and glitter.
+ #1 younger son & daughter-in-law, granddaughter, aunt & uncle: family all coming to celebrate Christmas with us. - #1 daughter is in a far off land and won't be here.
+ Christmas is coming. God so loved us He gave us Jesus. We have the opportunity to celebrate all year. There is no minus to that!

| I wanted to write late Thanksgiving night, but could not get on xanga no matter how many times I tried. Too many people reporting their activities, I guess!
#1 youngest son recovered and was out of quarantine Sat. night. He was up and out and about attending to various activities during the week. We saw a few of his friends who were also in town for the break. I miss those guys hanging around....
We were able to talk to our extended family members on Thanksgiving Day, even #1 daughter in China!
We were fortunate to snag the members of the Meyers family as guests at our Thanksgiving dinner. They brought yummy food such as a spicy cornbread dressing, green beans, apple pie, and a delicious hot spiced cider. That went nicely with our traditional turkey, potatoes, etc. Our table was quite international as we rounded out our guests with Musa (from South Africa) and Yoon (from South Korea). It was good to hear about different holiday celebrations in other countries, plus some history lessons thrown in the conversation.
Sons helped with set up, some food preparation, and cleanup. Hubby was a taster to make sure things were just right (!) plus did after dinner table/floor duty.
I am thankful and blessed by my family.

| It's official. #1 youngest has swine flu, or H1N1 if you're being particular. A visit to the SLU health center confirmed it. He is confined to his dorm room. Dining services will deliver meals (assuming he feels like eating) until he recovers. SLU takes good care of its students.
